The Club was established in 1985 by Transnet and registered as Transnet WP Athletics club with Western Province Athletics (W.P.A). In 2006 the Club relocated to Brackenfell and was officially renamed Brackenfell Athletics Club (BAC). We are based at the Brackenfell Sports Complex next to the N1 and share the premises with Tennis, Cricket, Rugby and Netball. We have our own clubhouse that has been built through the hard work and dedication of many of our club members. At the Annual General Meeting of 2019 it was decided to change our name to Brackenfell Running Club, we have no facilities for track and field training or events.
BAC caters for long and short distance road running, cross country as well as walking. The Club boasts over 300 members of all ages and is recognised as one of the strongest in the Western Cape. Interested parties and members please see on website what activities are planned monthly. We also distribute a bi-weekly newsletter to all members with email addresses to keep you up to date with club activities.
No matter what your level of running – Brackenfell Athletics Club (BAC) is the club for you. Everyone is made to feel welcome, it’s up to you to enjoy the lifestyle of running and being part of a special club.
To all our new members, a hearty welcome and to all our current members and their families thank you for your support on the road this year and your commitment to our Club. A club is only as good as its members so well done to all of you. Encourage your family and friends to join.
